If you're wondering what type of mask to purchase or are confused about your P3's and FFP3's*, look no further, we've done a little explainer below that'll help you decide what type of mask to buy.
Firstly, here's what all the numbers, letters and brand names mean:
P3 and FFP3
Widely recognised as the gold standard for filtration, P3 or FFP3 filter out 99.9% of particles, including oil-based particles, have behind the head elastic fixings (not behind the ears) for a close fit and are recommended for all types of industrial, manufacturing and healthcare environments including high-dust factories and hospitals.
HEPAC Filters
HEPAC is the brand name of our filters that filter out 99.9% of airborne particles and aerosols at 0.3 microns and above. These filters are in our P3 and FFP3 masks, the P3 reusable respirator mask and our FFP3 Commuter mask, and are recommended for all types of industrial, manufacturing (dust and other toxic particles) and healthcare environments (anti-bacteria) including high-dust factories and hospitals.
You may also see N95, widely used in America, that is a classification meaning filters 95% of airborne non-oil based particles
*P3 is 'P' for particle and '3' for 0.3 microns and FFP stands for Filtering Face Piece
